It’s not me in a rut. 

I’ll breathe out to the tune of turning in right now. 

You barely try, but you’re rad. A lot of times it’s you that’s on my mind. I’ve just got a problem, I’m thinking it will go away in time. 

So we listen to these heartbreak songs when nothing’s really wrong, and then we smile when we’re asked and say we’re fine. But we’re drifting through our middle days, we’re creeping into middle age, and setting in our ways.

It rained today inside of me. Winds of dismay, they blew me away. 

Well suddenly it’s as clear as clear can be, I’m not quite the perfect man that I hoped I’d be, and though I’ve always tried to live an honest life, to tell the truth I’ve told my share of lies. 

I’m not getting better, I’m just feeling sick. 

My tongue will taste of gin and malicious intent. 

I used to love this band back in the day. 

Let’s all play the lottery so we can buy all our dreams. 

I miss being 15.

So quiet, another wasted night, the television steals the conversation. Exhale, another wasted breath, again it goes unnoticed. 

Your skin was appealing wallpaper, now your skin is just peeling, your skin is just peeling, your skin is just peeling off. 

The time has come for colds and overcoats.
